Frequently asked questions

Does import change or delete anything in Jira?+

No. WorkThroughLine only reads the export or approved Jira Cloud data. It does not delete or change data in Jira.

Can I preview the result first?+

Yes. Preflight and mapping do not write data. Import starts only after explicit administrator confirmation.

What access does the Jira Cloud connection request?+

Atlassian OAuth requests read-only access to Jira work and users, plus permission to refresh the connection securely. Tokens are stored encrypted, access can be disconnected at any time, and Jira data is never changed.

What happens if I run the same file again?+

Stable Jira identities prevent duplicates. Previously imported data can update, while manually changed items are skipped by default.

Are attachments migrated?+

Yes. The direct Jira Cloud connection can securely copy physical attachments into private WorkThroughLine storage. CSV contains references only.

Do we have to shut Jira down immediately?+

No. Use a short controlled transition: import, verify, agree on a cutover date, then make WorkThroughLine the source of truth.

Is this live Jira sync?+

No. This is a migration assistant. We do not advertise permanent two-way sync that the product does not provide.
